August 31sth

Hye Guys,

Wow, it's been a long time ago since I've post some interesting things about my life in The United States.
Well, in the mean time, I went to the smoky mountains with the other exchange students. It was en AWESOME day, and we did some tubing. The weather was great, great company, and offcourse some beautifull nature.
After the smoky mountains, we went to the nike outlet, to buy some sport clothes.
On the way home, we went to pigeon forge, wich is one big road in North Carolina who looks like the 'Las Vegas' from Tennessee :)

Once we got home, Bruce took me to the local football game Harriman-Kingston. It was u big deal, I can tell you ;)
It really was like they show us in the movies. The cheerleaders, the band, the 'popular' football players. It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience !

Saturday Brayden came to swimm with us, and after that, we went to a baseballgame from the smokies. At the beginning, it was hard to understand, but et the end I could enjoy myself. Some popcorn and a coke in my hand, and I totally felt at home :)

Sunday is traditionally church-sunday. We went to sunday school, after that we went to the service, and after that there was this womensmeeting, with food offcourse :)
We discussed some difficult topics, such as the food they're gonna make for the next meeting :) I was kind of in a good mood, so I suggested I would make some Belgian Waffles. After all the food, there was this women who came to talk about domestic violence. I must say, I was impressed ..

Monday was my first day of school. I was really nervous, but everything fell on it's place as I went in my first classroom. The spanish teacher was really nice, such as the Alebra teacher.  She gave us a lot off homework allready .. That really sucked :( And we already had a test planned on the second day of school ..

Tuesday, I had my first lesson of Macroecomics ( at 8 o'clock :( ) and American Government. I was still tired in my lesson Macroeconomics, but it wasn't that hard, so that went well :) The American Government was fine, although I didn't knew many answers on the quiz we took toghether.

Today (thursday), I had my first guitar lesson, and that's the nicest lesson I've had since I've been here :) This evening, Diana made a lovely meal for the whole family. I played a little with Brayden and Addyson, and now we're looking offourse to the convention on the television. Mitt Romney will give his speach tonight, so probably all the Americans will stick to theie television tonight.

Hopefully everything is going well in Belgium, and I hope you're all doing well !

Kind Regards, Sara

August 16th

Hye Guys,

This is my first message live from Harriman, Tennesee :)
I'm glad that I arrived eventually, even if it was 1 day later as planned.
The reason why I arrived later, was because I missed my connection flight.

Well, I will start at the beginning. At home, I had to say goodbye to Pieter & our little dog Lou. But Actually, I forgot to say goodbye to Lou ! And I regret that already :(
So I left to Brussels airport, and once I arrived, Boudewijn from YFU was already waiting for me.
Then I had to say goodbye to my mom and dad. Unfortunatly I had to whipe away a little tear, although I promissed myself not to cry.
Once I got through the douane, it was over, and I as looking forward to my great advanture.
Then I arrived save and well in Londen, en even in Chicago everything was still okay.
Then I had to go trough customs, and I had to wait for 2 hours. But unfortunatly, I had a connection flight in about 1.5 hours. It didn't look good, so I asked if I could cut the line. But the police said I couldn't, so I had to listen very well.

In the end, I missed my flight, end I also lost my luggage. But British Airlines booked a night at the Hilton for me, so that was a nice alternative.

The next morning I had to catch my flight at 9.30am, so I had to hurry in the morning.
Evetually I arrived save at Bruce and Diana's home. They are really nice people, and they helped me really well with my lost luggage and everything.

Today I met Sandy Rich, and the other exchange students from Roane state community college. ( The college I will be attending )
I had to pass an exam, but it went fine, so I could chose all of my classes myself :)

Offcourse, the classes I chose are mostlikely the courses I like the most.
I chose to go to singing classes, choir classes, guitarlessons, Historyclasses, photographielessons, macro-economics, and algebra :)
Actually the algebra I chose to keep up with mathematics to keep my options open for net year.

Now Diana just had a meeting at our house with the neighboors to do some fundraising to build up a nice neighboorhood. So I met all the neighboors, and they where really nice.

Tomorrow I will go to my on campus, Harriman. It's like a department of roane state community college. I'm looking forward to it to see my own campus.

Well, I'm heading off to bed, I'm not jet recovered from my jetlag :)
I hope to see you'all very soon ! And I hope you're all doing well !

Kind Regards,
Sara x

I've really enjoyed the party last week. It was nice to see everyone one last time.
But I'm also really looking forward to meet my host family. They seem reayly nice !
My next post will probably be from my new home. So I'll see you there ;)

Kind Regards,
Sara
